So in my
compost pile I've found a bunch of red headed worms. I took some of the compost they were in and put them in a large ice chest. So far I've added 25 - 30 worms to the bin. These things wiggle and squirm like red wigglers, but they're twice as big. So far, I think they like it in there. I do have red wigglers in there with them so I'm curious...can red wigglers and red headed worms cross breed? Will they, since I've provided a target rich environment for both species? There are plenty of both kinds of worms for them to get their freak on without interspecies mating. Or, do they do their worm thing with the first worm it comes in contact with, regardless of species?
