This is like a Badge Bit except you earn pie. I’m giving 1213 14 slices away this month to the first 1213 14 people to complete this task.
Here are the requirements.
- Visit a bike shop
- Take an electric bike for a ride (you don’t have to buy a bike, just try it out)
- Post a picture or video of you on the ebike - grins are guaranteed
That’s it. Feel free to share details of the bike, the shop, the awesome time you had.
I’m now up two slices thanks to the generosity of Nancy Reading and L Johnson, so I have added the extra slices to the bounty. There’s now 14 slices for 14 grinning ebikers.
Alas, no takers and today is the last day of the month. One the plus side, I have a whole pie to give away, so chances are if you post about taking an ebike for a spin, buying and ebike or cargo bike then pie will come your way.
In the meantime, I will have to rethink my strategy for global ebike take over. Any suggestions welcome!
I've heard about the 'ebike grin'. I'm honestly afraid that if I try it I'll buy even though I can't really afford it and it'll get used as infrequently as my regular bike.
I would have sworn that I looked through the bicycle forum just last week, but after several similar incidents of having the same mistaken thoughts, it was probably months ago. "The mind is a terrible organ to shovel" is a phrase from the cartoon Ed, Edd, and Eddy that I've been using a lot since bouncing my head off the concrete last year.
I needed to clean up my garage and I was super busy, work and someone in my house on their death bed had me very out of sorts. I knew with the bad lighting and stuff crowded up everywhere that it was a terrible tripping hazard and I was deathly afraid of breaking my wrist again and not being able to work. I told my roommate, " I'm gonna trip, fall, and break my stupid face." A couple weeks later I bought my fat bike and a month after that I tripped over it and broke my leg, broke my rib, broke my face. Almost certainly in that order. I have no memory of 5 hours before to 3 hours after the incident. Luckily my friend noticed I had gone missing for 20 minutes and found me. Apparently I just got up and walked it off and convinced everyone I was fine. Went I came to, I had no clue I was injured. Imagine my surprise when I saw myself in the mirror in my room before going to bed!
How's that for an ebike purchase story?
