I'm looking for a 4 wheel farm style wagon, but in a garden tractor size. Something in the 3' x 5' range, does anyone know of a source. Trailers of this size are easy to find, but I'm looking for something 4 wheeled with no tongue weight.

Tractor supply sells one around here. Fleet and farm might, too. Northern tool used to, but I haven't looked lately. Farmtek has several.

I have one from tractor supply, wish I had about 20. It is 3 1/2 by 6 or so--I wish it was 2 inches wider so it would fit a big pickup-bed water tank. It will hold an IBC, but the pickup tank is a lot lower and more stable.

I see that now on their website. They don't stock it in my area. The one they advertise is 4' x 6' however the reviews are mixed particularly noting tire problems and them being non-standard. Also it is $300.

They don't stock it in my area.


Most companies will special order anything that is on their website.

The advantage: you don't pay shipping, as it just comes with their next order.
Disadvantage: you don't get to 'touch & feel' it before you buy it.
Sometimes, catalog pictures/descriptions are not 100% accurate.

The gripe is the 4x6 is OUTSIDE dimensions. I have never had a problem with the wheels or tires, but it is a made in China deal so I can imagine they could be oddballs.

The next cheapest new option I could find was about a grand. It is cheaper to by a full size trailer than a small specialty trailer.

Yeah I suspect I may have to build my own. Does anyone know of a source of a steering axle? Something I can watch for from a scrap value point of view?

Good idea, an old riding mower frame would be ideal, too bad I let one go for scrap last year

Isn't that always the way? Two people I know well had cast iron radiators 'till I needed one... They went to the junk! Anyway, Depending on your blacksmithing skills, you might consider cutting down something bigger that you could get for cheap...? Neighbor has these old gravity wagons, little ones, not used anymore. The frames would be junk price stuff, I'd guess...
