Oiling tools with spore prints

Something I've taken to doing over the years is to spore print virtually all my mushrooms, and most particularly those with whom I'm already positive of it's ID. DNA muhahaha. When its time to work I select the intended tool and the appropriate print. A couple of caps of my cheapest veggie oil goes on the scape paper print and the tool gets a good rub down after it's sharpened. My machete gets the most love but axes, kitchen knives, shovels, hand picks, they all get oil massages. I have had the most success from this with velvet foot growing on red elderberry. I discovered them last year and have very successfully proliferated them.

Interesting idea. Stamets patented the use of spores in chain saw oil, so the stumps would immediately grow mushrooms, I think. I haven't heard of it from anyone else.

Yup, that's totally where I got the idea from.

I know of someone locally that is experimenting with utilizing spores in his band saw oiler hoping to speed up quantity of mass inoculated.

I would be interested in seeing the effectiveness on left over stumps as a sort of medium-term mushroom farm.
