Whatever you do, don't weld galvanized metal! Don't ask your friend to weld galvanized metal! Galvanized metal gives of toxic fumes and you WILL get very sick if you breath the fumes. It's called metal fume fever or galvanize poisoning and you'll feel like you have the worst flu you've ever had and you'll wish you were dead.
