Hey Nate,  in which MO county are you located?

I've discovered that these bushes growing wild all over my property (which the goats love because they stay green well into winter), are elderberry!  A friend made an elixir a year ago, and it just got me over the flu in 2 days!  I got to learn how to use it myself

I planted asparagus in my woodchip garden.  Now I've located several wild patches (without even "Searching for the Wild Asparagus").  When do you cut the stalks to eat them?

I read that flowers and berries are edible to humans.  All other parts of the plant contain calcium oxalate, which is toxic.  (Causes kidney stones, too.)  That said, my Lamancha goats love elderberry leaves - probably because they're one of the few green bushes in winter.

I tried to start a flock once, bought 3 ewelambs and a ramlamb, and put them in an Electronet fence during the day.  It kept the lambs in. But, a stray dog spooked the lambs.  One got tangled in the net.  Whether she died from heart attack caused by fright it by electrocution, I don't know.  
 My advice is don't depend on flexible net, even electrical.  Build a good fence first.  Use field wire with a 4"x4" opening, 4' high.  I found non-standard rolls at a scrap metal dealer in Ada OK selling the wire by the pound.  It came out to about 1/3 the retail price.
