BRK Day 87

Inge, I think a hat would be lovely, thank you. Although I certainly wouldn't turn down some seeds either haha.

BRK Day 88

Lots of little things yesterday. Josiah helped me get the last clip of film for a youtube video we're working on. Harvested some rocks from the tank trap for a dry stack wall on my plot, and found some nice turnips while doing it. Also picked choke cherries and made some choke cherry leather

Is choke cherry leather good?  Is there anything added to the pulp?

Mike,
Can't really say if it's any good, haven't tasted it yet! It is actually made of the whole ground choke cherry, pit and all. Supposedly an old Native American technique. The pits contain cyanide, but it's quite volatile so theoretically by the time it's dry it should all have evaporated. I blended it all up in the Vitamix
Important Note: If you're going to try and make this, do it outside in a well ventilated area. Blending the cherries produced enough heat it boiled off quite a bit of the cyanide... enough to make me and Jen feel a little funny. Also I haven't actually ensured the final product isn't poisonous . Recreate at your own risk
