Why is this site now displaying one's first and last names instead of one's chosen online name?

permies now has a first-name-last-name policy. It doesn't have to be your actual name at all, just something that sounds 'real' https://permies.com/t/12298/tinkering-site/real-sounding-name.
I really like being able address people by a name, whether it's just in my head or in a post and online 'handles' don't give me the feeling of a genuine conversation that a name does. "Hi, someonefromsomewhere" just doesn't do it for me!

I see. I have no problem addressing someone as 'fourreddots', if that's how they wish to be addressed. However, as this forum is owned and paid for by someone, I guess he/she is free to dictate policy. Thanks for the response.
