Hi there. I had no problem adding bookmarks from my computer, but I don't see where I can do that on my mobile device. Can I get some love for my cell phone? I am reading Paul's BWB book and want to bookmark some of the links he has a like junk pole fences and chinampas.

Whether I view the desktop or mobile version, I have a "bookmark topic" button above and below the thread. (I'm on my phone.) If you'd like to see the desktop version on your phone, there are a number of ways. The first several I tried were unreliable, at least on my phone. Right now, I'm using xbrowser, with a greasemonkey script called "Refuse mobile page!".

Or if you'd like to work with your current browser and view, can you take and post a screenshot from the top of your thread? I'll attach one of what I see.

If you scroll down to the bottom of any permies page, you can click something that says "desktop view." When you click that, you'll be switched over to the desktop view, which is--granted--probably frustrating to manage on a cellphone, but you'll have all your options.

Then you can scroll down to the bottom and click "mobile view" to go back to mobile view. I often switch to mobile view on my desktop to test mobile features (since I don't have a cellphone).

I hope that helps!

That will only work at permies.com, not the whole internet. (Which is, after all, what you asked for.) And you'll probably find it simpler to implement than what I said. I'd never noticed the option was there before.

The more information, the merrier! Some people might want to know how to get rid of all mobile pages, and what you said is probably super helpful for them! Some might like mobile versions better, but just want to view the desktop mode for some of the features that mobile view sadly doesn't have. Now this thread has ideas for both types of people. And that's awesome!

This solved the problem! Thanks so much.

That's a very big dog. I think I want to go home now and hug this tiny ad:
