Hello,

Curious to know if anyone has had success with any simple home-grown tech to handle plastic waste and convert it into polyfuel or recycle

Regards,

I saw some posts online where people had used domestic irons to laminate plastic bags together to make boards and more substantial bag materials.  I did have a go myself, but came to the conclusion that it was a bit energy extravagent.  My board wasn't very well consolidated either.
I do quite fancy getting set up with a shredder and extruder to make CAD models from plastic, but priorities mean my time and money is spent elsewhere!  In the meantime I annoy my husband by collecting milk bottle and other plastic caps for future use maybe.....

Thank you, Nancy. I tried the ironing thing too and did not work out in that way.

The shredder and extruder have two problems which I figured out -

1. Cost of the machines
2. Does not work for the thin single-use plastics used in food wrappings like biscuits
