I know that soured raw milk from healthy cows and goats is a goldmine, but I haven't moved forward with making anything out of it. I have two pickle jars full sitting in the back of my fridge for months now...at what point should I throw it out? Thanks, Sarah!
That's a really good question, and I'd like to add to it. A few weeks ago, my raw milk started souring, and I managed to drink a good cup of it, but it absolutely killed my stomach. That kinda surprised me.
Is that normal? I think I drank it on an empty stomach, so is that where I went wrong?
I know I don't like drinking sour milk. But I do like the challenge of finding ways to use it. I like making ice cream out of my cream... even if it sours. I try to think of flavors that go well with a bit of sour like cheesecake is a sour flavor... so I tried making a strawberry puree and adding it at the end of the ice cream process. Strawberry cheesecake ice cream? Yes!!!
