Once a week someone comes up to me as I’m loading my bike up outside the grocery store. I can’t blame them, seeing a bike in NJ on a weekday is very rare! And mine is long and orange . . .

Sometimes, I get snarky comments but mostly, people are really friendly and curious.

I had a nasty experience cycling to the store today by an a-hole who thought I wasn’t paying enough taxes to be using his road space. Later outside the store, a lovely chap asked if he could take a picture of the bike. I felt a lot better. He told me how awesome he thought my bike was, so I reached into my shopping and gave him an apple. We both felt a little embarrassed but he was grinning and so was I.
