Garlic does best when fall planted. Builds a good set of
roots before frost puts it into dormancy.
Then in spring it begins growing bulbs.
By planting it in spring, you will get smaller bulbs...but just as tasty.
If it was a hard neck, I would say plant it now, as the hard necks are not great keepers.
Examine them.
If some are getting sad looking, plant them now and save the better ones for autumn planting.
I've never grown the 'tater onions (yet), but I have heard of people planting them early, or late.
Perhaps, the same game plan...those that look "iffy" go in now, the rest later.
I have heard that they DON'T do well in wet springs...can rot.
They're both pretty tough crops...can handle just about anything. Good luck.
