My kids came up with an interesting salad tonight:
Rose petals
Mint leaves
Green onion
Golden Raspberries

I couldn't eat a whole bowlful like my two year old was doing, but the taste was actually quite nice. My 9 year old used the combination to make a water infusion to drink.

I'm trying to let my kids teach me to be more adventurous in my eating.

Has anyone discovered any delicious food combinations in their gardens?

What's your favorite fresh from the garden salad or meal?

I like romaine (Brown Goldring is tasty), parsley, and banana. Unfortunately, I can't grow the banana 😁

Lol, no banana here either, though my brother keeps teasing me that he wants to put a greenhouse on my property and grow a banana in it.

I love fruit in my green salads but I've never thought about banana. Sounds yummy!

I lightly blanched some fresh broad beans (fava beans) and mashed them a little--not fully puree, just a little smashed.  These went into a vinaigrette with mint, a little bit of minced onion and garlic, and a fresh young courgette (zucchini).  And some orange segments from a fruit no one seemed to want to eat at the back of the fridge.  It was delicious on a plate of garden lettuce.
