I've been lurking for a bit but have finally jumped in.

I'm in my 50's and having been working on my permaculture garden for the past 14 years. I'm about to leave it and start over on a bigger, empty lot. It's hard to leave but I'm going from around 1/4 acre of workable space to over 3/4 of an acre and shifting to 6b.
There wasn't much of a coherent plan with the old garden, I learned as I went and made some mistakes. I'm hoping that all that experience will let me lay out a much more functional homestead plot and that the many things I've potted up move successfully!

I love doing recipe testing and development with all the things I grow. I also work, or have worked, in various art mediums and have been selling pieces since before I was 10. I like to focus on using natural materials and reclaimed and upcycled supplies. Sewing, of clothes, upholstery and soft sculpture, furniture restoration, framing and photography are the main areas I'm focusing on right now. I'm also a geek and have some cosplay and fandom themed projects.

Planning and implementing a design for the new space is going to be a huge job and it looks like there is lots for me to learn here so I'm looking forward to being part of the community!

Welcome to Permies Dian!

I see that you already have started a few great threads and posted a bunch, but I'll still leave this here: How Permies.com works - links to useful threads - there's a lot of good information on that thread!

The projects forum would be a good place to post projects you are planning and actually doing. I find it a great place to refine thoughts and get input from others on bigger and smaller things.

It would also be great to see some of your art! We have an art category with a few different forums to post.

I wish you good luck with your new homestead!
