Good day lovely bunch,

i see lots of people looking for their true love and many dont know where they will set their nest yet.

Once you find your +1:
How about Portugal (region of Alentejo border with Spain)? It has almost a year round lovely sunny weather (maybe 1 month where it is a bit gray), simple life style and away from the cities and crowds.
2,5 acres of land (10250 m) a water well, olive trees, fruit trees, creek, all my working tools, furniture, small house, garage, etc.

Pictures are in one of my other posts but if interested get in touch and i will show you all you need.

Good luck on your love hunt
xx

Hey, Only it is indeed a lot of work, I have a small homestead under construction in France, an equally very sunny region, little rain, perhaps look for a partner instead of giving up your dream?

Greetings Dirk

Bonjour Dirk,
"Bon courage" on your project. it is demanding and i have been handling it ok these past couple of years but you know? sometimes we have a dream, and then.... we have another dream, or the same dream with a twist, a more realistic dream perhaps. This place would defo suit a couple.... i have put my all in this, but is a bit like cooking....(spend all day in the kitchen and cant eat the food when is finished). After all the sweat, blood and tears i am ok to pass it on and look "ailleurs"๐Ÿ˜‹

Hi Elia, i keep hearing of people doing permaculture projects in Portugal who moved from Northern Europe during the Covid years and after, i see little of them here on Permies. Do you know where they hang out online?

Hi Hugo,
well, I am part of that group of the covid years I guess. Also around algarve and central Portugal you find a few. Many dont have a major online presence.... to busy developing with their partners or workawayers. Some have Telegram groups.
How come you ask? being tickled by curiosity for the nation?๐Ÿ˜Š

I'm busy trying to connect people a bit, in a meaningful way. Over the years i've seen many projects but not too much reaction of people that were kind of doing their own thing somewhere else and then left and got sucked back into society. I believe with concerted effort we could become a parallel society and we should.

Just in case you were wondering....
I have not moved any agencies yet.... permies and portugal holodays.com have the honour for now๐Ÿ˜‹

We are enjoying a warm, beautiful spring time here in Portugal. The chirping of the birds, the crickets, some wild bores, deer, hares and other small creatures... nothing poisonous, nothing deadly.... just bliss. Come visit. I love the place but its too much for me but will suit couples. all ready to go

Phew!! glad summer is almost over.... Fall and spring are awesome here and whilst the north and the center of Portugal are on fire, my secluded, water filled area in SE, is safe and sound.
a month or so ago the region went through an Earth quake it seems (5.4 according to news) but again.... that was west and here we felt almost nothing.... same goes for floodings, nothing! i am starting to believe i am meant to be here๐Ÿค”

I am having a lovely couple visiting over for several weeks on their camper van, I have had a number of people interested.... shame they had not put their finances to the test of reality.

Revamping this.... see what happens.

Peace

I've been going to Portugal three years, stayed in 45 locations over six months. I've seen a lot of the country. It seems like most of the Permaculture type people are in the region of Castelo Branco.
I've also found a fair number around Castaneirha de pera.
Some people are going Off grid. Also further north in the region of Fundao
You can look up a guy on YouTube called farmer for fun
He's always showing farms for sale
If you're interested, let's talk. I'm hoping to go over there shortly and start remodeling and flipping houses in the central region south of coimbra.
Unless somebody convinces me to go somewhere else
Single guy that could Benefit from a life partner
