Anyone use a Mason-Genie for vacuum sealing mason jars?

I just saw an add for this widget that sucks the air out of mason jars and seals the lid on: https://masongenie.com/pages/mason-genie (The website has kind of scammy feel to it, but I'm not sure that's enough to discount the product.)

It seems like it would be a great product, but for that to be true, it must: 1) work and 2) last for several years. Has anyone used one?

20 years ago I had a consumer-grade vacuum sealer that used (wasted) those long roll-bags and it had an attachment that supposedly would do this but it was just incredibly finicky and would take several tries to get everything lined up just so.

I just got one recently. It works very well.
Bean sprouts that usually liquify within a few days look as fresh as the day I bought them 7+ days ago.
I'm sold on it. Not sure how long the unit will last, but it seems well made.

I bought a MasonGenie directly from the company Sept 19, 2024. I used it 3x, put it back in the original box for future use.  It's now Jan 21, 2025. It no longer works. I paid over $69.00 for this thing.  It's going in the trash. No response from the manufacturer.

Thanks for the info, both of you -- and welcome to Permies!

Anything worth doing well is worth doing poorly first. Just look at this tiny ad:
