New born piggies are small, and subject to chills.....however, mama knows best. As long as it isn't raining a cool rain, or blowing with chilly night air, I think that you could expand the pen so they could be outside some and get them used to whatever sort of barrier you're going to use.... then after a few days let them go! Give them some boxes or
shelters to hide and play in.... an old truck
canopy can work really well..... it also gives them a place in the shade or out of the rain. Put down some
hay for them to snuggle in when away from mama.... But if she's a good sow she'll look after them well enough. I've had piglets born outside in the winter during snow, ice and minus temps.... the good mamas take care of them, the bad ones make you wish you had brought her in before she pigged.....
