FOR SALE: Off-grid cabin with two acres of land in Asturias, Spain. Water comes from a spring on the land, conveniently above house and garden level.

This small stone cabin has two levels, the ground floor and a loft. Both are about 140 sq foot.

The cabin is in Asturias, near the city of Oviedo. It is about 45 mins from the sea and 5 mins from a village with restauraunts/pubs/shop, 2 mins from a mini-pub. It has a small off grid stone cabin with an electric system. There is a spring on the land, connected to a standpipe. There are 2 acres of fertile land, fenced, with a super-fenced garden/orchard. The garden is currently covered over to stop weeds. The nearest person lives 300m away, the 2nd nearest 600m. The cabin is accessed by a 200m long footpath.

It comes with a lot of equipment, including chainsaw, strimmer, self-propelled lawnmover, scythe, solar panels, generator, DC television, loads of kitchen equipment, woodstove etc, etc. A new loft floor, ground floor floorboard and a heavy wooden door were recently installed.

The there are 9-10 mature edible chestnut trees along one fence, and about 15 fruit trees I planted 5 years go (mainly japanese pears, with some apples, plums, cherries, figs). About half the land is fairly well maintained, the other half is quite overgrown. Excessive fertility and me not living in Spain, I suppose.

Rent would be 150 euro per month.
Sale would be 30,000 euro.

The landscape is beautiful, the people in the village are friendly. An hourly bus to Oviedo (one euro) leaves from 1 km away.

The climate in Asturias is wetter than most of Spain, which might bother some people, but makes for easy food production. The best time of the year is of course, June to mid october. Even december and january have working in a T-shirt days. Rain can occur during any month of the year. September has really good, reliable weather (usually) and is an inexpensive time to fly there for viewings. Easyjet fly to Oviedo/Asturias airport from London. The airport is 40 mins from the cabin.

Please let me know if you have any questions, more general one as post replies, specific ones (e.g. viewing arrangements) via personal message.

Thanks a lot

Liam

Hi Liam,

Do you have pics of your home?

Is there any period of the year, where you don't want to rent your home out?

Hi Jonas,

The place is available to rent all year round, I live in Ireland these days, for work reasons.

I'll try and stick in three pics in this post and three in the next

You still looking? Asturias (all galicia), cantabria, north of burgos and pais vasco have similar climate zone and  similiar two plants rustic stone houses in lands of 4000-20000m2.
Galicia is farther of big cities, aeroports and europe
Cantabria have more plagues, like asian besp, tick, acacia, cortaderia selloana (we choose cantabria for us, and we want neighbours permacultores!
North burgos is colder
Pais vasco is more expensive (but sooo beautiful! And really good cities

Look for  "cabaña pasiega", in cantabria you NEED to check that the cabin is included in the "catalogo de edificaciones rusticas municipal" if you want taller roof(in vega de pas they  dont have  one)
Starting from 7mil euros one 80m2 stone cabin in one 10000m2 land (but 25000€ give you more options, more sun and less slope). Almost every seller ask 60000 or 100000€ At foreigner but is not the final price.

Have luck
