1) Buy sulfur powder from the pharmacy (expensive) or garden supply shop (cheaper).
2) Place sulfur powder in an old sock (no holes please).
3) If you are wearing long pants, stuff pant legs into boots.
4) Slap sulfur sock all over boots and lower pant legs.
6) Store sock back in zip top plastic baggie
8 years of Boy Scouting with my Eagle Scout son, anybody using this technique never got ticks but plenty on the non-sulfur users.
We were in lots of places with lots of ticks, cattle ranch country of Texas.
I also sprinkled sulfur powder and diatomaceous earth at the entrance to the tent to keep the crawly creatures (fire ants, etc.) out.
