Good, thanks for re directing. I will read. No, not looking for an Earth Haven; I just know they started without a clear plan and muddled through a lot including decision making process and land planning and hence have a main road that they now wish they had a designed in advance. I work from home and bicycle commute in for charrettes and meetings. I am anti car commute but thanks for heads up on that and info on dogs.

It might be hard to impose rules on renters. I completly understand the need for boundaries and am respectful of this; this is why the language "intentional" is used (our intention is <fill in the blank>. I also understand the politics of consensus and how difficult this can be for communities to achieve but there are many success stories too. One example is Earth Haven (sp?), Boon County NC . Do you have an outline of your model or mission statement that folks can follow so to understand whether your community makes sense for them? I think this would be a good starting point and I apologize if I have missed this on podcast or in another thread.

Back to point: I would consider renting, It makes sense for me and although I am an experienced permie I have financial responsibilies that keep me tied to the man for awhile. One question that comes up for me for instance: Can I bring my dog? and if so, what would the dog rules be? Just throwing this out as example.

Peas out. Keep up the great work; this is great stuff.

This is exciting news!

"Getting things started will be klunky. "

This has me thinking from an administrative (horrible word to include, I know...) perspective: have you thought about a place where folks can drop you a line with their interest, qualifications, serious inquiry only questions etc? This might give you an idea of the various skill sets and expertise you will be/are already attracting. Thought.

I apologize if I mishandled the "quote" function on this; I think I did.

Excellent information. Thank you. I will research the propogation practices. I have experiencing grafting cacti only and understand the basics. Layering will be something new.

I am fascinated, have researched and read some and find myself downright daydreamy with thoughts of a plan but am intimidated by the economics .i.e. upfront costs (monetary). is this discussed in Dave's literature?

I'm curious as to what Mr. Katz's all time favorite fermented food/recipe is.

I was using chili paste which most likely has salt. I'm in Austin so ground chili peppers from now on. Thanks for recommendation!
