Hi there you all gum recessioners.
Firstly gum recession can be caused by 2 thing - lack of bone OR unbalanced pressure from jaws.
You'll need a very good biological dentist to diagnose.

Secondly, do not drink very hot drinks and eat hard food like bread crums, krutons ect...

I recommend reading "cure gum disease" by ramial nagal. He talks about Phytic acid as enemy namber 1 for theeth health, and can cause deficiency in fat soluble vitamins a,d, e, k. Very interesting stuff.

From my own experience, after 2 births my theeth and gum condition really got worst dou to mineral deficiency, so try to take good care of youre body.

hi all of you out there
for the last couple of days my brahma roo is not feeling good, he looks a bit weak, but still drinks and eats
i gave the flock some DE the other day, and the next morning his feather were smired in i don't know what, but it was STINKY !
so i thought maybe he had a fight with someone, but he is inside the coop and no sign of bit or bruise.
after a long examination with a friend vet (which knows nothing about chickens) we saw he is really really red, and also very skinny

does anyone know what is this? and how i teat it?

the coop is relatively new (8 month) and first time on that batch, we don't do rotation cause our place is really small.
the chickens are there most of the times because we have foxes issues, so the cant run around with no "shepherd"
the coop itself is mulched with wood chips, not so heavily, under is it there is soil

nop. no chemicals at all
i use only compost, compost tea and EM (effective micro-organisms)
we do have a small compost pile inside the coop, but i don't think that this is what causing the worms

hey friends

we are trying to rise colombian-buff brahma, which turn out to be really difficult mission!
as chicklings they are VERY sensitive, but the wired thing is that they keeps getting worms, our female died today because of it.
there is no Diatomaceous earth here ,but i wonder whats worng with the soil that the keep on having it?

i was wondering what is your'e top 5 (or 10) heritage chickens by:
1. suitable for outdoors condition (here its a short rainy season and long dry and hot summer)
2. low grain input
3. egg quality and production
4. birds nature (evil, friendly...)
5. easy to grow chick-lings to adult

we raise brahama's and we are totally in love with their peaceful and friendly nature
