Have you looked into a CSA? Or possibly approaching some local health food stores or organic/vegetarian restaurants. Or using the fresh produce to make a cannoned or dehydraitd item to sell. Perhaps it is because I have no land but I would look into other outlets for sales if I were being offered a small farm. What type of produce do you have? Is there extra space to grow feed and forage for ducks for duck eggs or goats or sheep for artesian cheeses? My local farmers market nay has one vendor for both eggs and one for cheese but tons of organic veggies. Also home gardens and community gardens are really trendy right now so I can see why there's less of a need for fresh produce at farmers markets.

As a stay at home homeschooling mom I feel it is truly sad that children so young have to be separated from their parents. That said I have also worked in a preschool in the past. Perhaps the original poster is looking more for guidelines and curriculum for the instructors to follow to create a seemingly unstructured environment to introduce gardening to children who would otherwise not be exposed to it.... All I can recommend is just dig in! There are many websites devoted to kids gardening as well as school gardens. I know little kids love being able to harvest and eat what they have grown and I think it is a great idea to introduce gardening even if it is not permaculture into a childs environment.
Rather than hiring a landscaper to make the school yard pleasant perhaps hire a permaculture designer to sign a food forest and a few keyline or hugely ultra beds for annuals. Then have the teachers and students do all the gardening from sprouting seeds indoors to digging holes as a group to place the inner trees of guilds. I think the biggest focus should be safety and pacing. If the school intends to introduce permaculture of the years perhaps only set up one guild per year. I for one would love to work at such a facility as it encompasses my two passions, my children and my gardening...

I would like to get wool from sheep hence the reason I am asking about sheep instead of goats or cows. Although I have raised both in the past it was on sixteen acres of pasture that I no longer have. So I am trying to see if sheep would be feasible in the future as I am plannin moving to a rather forested semi rocky region, I know cashmere can be gotten by goats but I would love to have wool with lanolin. It would be nice to have either meat or milk. A secondary product but I do intend to have goats as well so I am primarily interested in wool for fiber crafting as my kids have an interest in knitting,

I am not sure if this is the right forum. Hypothetically is there a natural building style that can be completed independently? For instance I know I am not capable building a log cabin on my own but could a person build a cob home alone? I am just wondering out of sheer curiosity!

Are thee any heritage varieties that can browse and forrage and would be suitable for woodlands. Isn't there a variety of forest sheep? Can the clun forest sheep actually be raised ia forest environment or does it need pasture as well?
Sorry if this sound naive but I would like to raise sheep for wool and meat at some point yet am not sure if I will end up with acres of pasture...

Hi, I think I would be interested in some seeds or cuttings of edible prickly pears as well as the Napolinato pear and Chile Petin. I may be relocating to a very arid zone 9 region shortly and am a bit overwhelmed learning about and searching for drought tolerent species.

A couple of far fetched questions.
Can wild greens and herbs as well as garden greens be foraged and used as silage for overwintering? Dried for feeding over winter?
Can fodder and forage sustain a rabbits diet?
Does anyone feed fodder as a main source of a rabbits diet ileu of rabbit tractors?
Has anyone tried silage? Well not you yourself but your rabbits...

I was googling permaculture and something about upstat new York, since I'm pondering actually attending the Chiropractic school in Seneca Falls. Although it did not answer any of the questions I was pondering your post here happened to show up in google so I figured I would say hello. Ask your wife to join the forum mothering.com then look up elimination communication or wool diaper covered and flats. That's what got me through two kids in cloth. My oldest was out of diapers by one and my youngest by two. Wool diaper covers can be made from up cycled materials like blankets or old sweaters and flats out of anything, and I do mean anything. You can buy a skeen of organic bamboo and put in hems and voila cheap absorbat organic... Also omotheering there is a for sale ectio and lots of moms give away diaper stashes for cheap or free. I acquired some of my stash n there and gave it away on there too...
