Wow! You guys are awesome! Thank you!

I have a 1/4 acre, facing south in zone 8b and am overwhelmed with how to turn this piece of land, just south of Seattle into a profitable permaculture market garden/farm? There is an abundance of information on the interwebs and I don't know which way to turn. I am one person with a full-time job but would like to start transitioning to a home-based business ( market garden/micro farm) and I have no idea how to get started? Any advice?

Regarding your comments on friends having an "emergency" and wanting help. I just heard a great quote the other day, (as I am one of those people that will drop everything to help out a friend regardless of inconvenience to me). "That is not my circus, and those are not my monkeys." I think I will be using this in the future. I love the service card idea, I can never remember that stuff, and that idea alone will save me nice wasted time.

I would like to thank Paul and Jocelyn for visiting us here in White Center yesterday, it was really wonderful to meet you both. I would also like to thank everyone who braved our rather blustery day, all in all I think we did okay with the outside location (but nice to know we had plan B just in case). It was really great to meet all of you and I hope we can plan other get togethers around the area if people would like to do so. I so enjoyed being to be able to have everyone over to my new place!

I think we'll be okay even if it does get somewhat stormy. If worse comes to worst I just got a load of bamboo, we can lash together a wind break.
I guess, dress appropriately.
One thing I would like folks to do if possible is bring personal drinking vessels? I'd rather not use plastic cups if possible and I definitely don't have enough glasses for 30+

RE leaky sky. I have two covered patio areas, one guest is bringing a pop-up, Someone else has offered to bring umbrellas, I have a patio style umbrella, if I can figure out how to rig it for more sheltered space, so I think we're "covered" : )
