I've been putting our tumbleweeds in a 15 by 30' pen for about 10 years now. Like you I do nothing special. We finally moved permanently to our property and try to remove them before they have chance to seed. Should have some pretty good compost at the bottom, the pile keeps shrinking down. One of these days I'll dig it out.
