My neighbour think I’m a little eccentric - I could get away with it being a stay at home British Dad in New Jersey. Today he thinks I’m plain crazy.
Why would I wash the outside of the house which I don’t own and it’s November! Anyhoo . . . That’s what I did. And my lovely neighbour lent me his pressure washer. We sit out front on the porch. I moved all the furniture and plants before I started. I used a bucket of hot water with Castile soap and a couple of cloths to clean everything I could reach. The pressure washer was great at getting rid of 90% of the muck, but a cloth was needed to finish. I also used a the cloth for all windows, cills, woodwork and other surfaces that weren’t metal cladding. I used a broom to sweep up, a long step ladder to do the top storey walls.

I also cleaned the drive of all the muck that came of the house: 
And I cleaned the garden furniture, the front deck, steps, back garden steps and patio. 
Tomorrow when everything is dry, I’ll paint the stairs and touch up some of the areas where the white paint is stained or flaking. |

Please can I have a little clarity on this one.
Does this mean every square inch of every wall? The house I rent is two storey with a basement but it’s on a steep hill, so it’s three storeys at the back and half way down the sides. Would I have to clean all three stories on all four sides. Could I get three points for cleaning three sides? One side of the house I can’t get to because it’s right next to my neighbours drive. The driveway is occupied by several cars which are all broken and never move. Access with a ladder is not possible. (There are other issues with my neighbours . . . ) The ground floor is much bigger than the second floor, so cleaning some of the second floor walls would involve climbing on roofs. I’ve included some pictures to make it easier to see what I’m talking about. I’m not going to photograph the neighbouring side |
