We got cloudy in the afternoon yesterday, didn't get quite as warm as 65, but that's ok. It's warm enough for dh to commute on the Kawasaki today, so I get to drive the Matrix!!!

Yea, gee it's only going to get down just below freezing, wow it's warming up!

At least they are not calling for any more frost or freeze now here for a little while.

The peas are destroyed and a pipe burst.  I was able to borrow a heater from a neighbor so I'm back in my own house.  It will be warming up at least for the next few days, forecast calls for 68 Thursday, 70 Friday.

Hahaha! You know for all the cold weather that happens up north, the hot weather sure does happen too.

1995 was a rough summer in Chicago and southern Wisconsin.

My father winters in Brooksville, says they had snow today there and around Ocala.  Aunt and uncle winter in Ocala.  No snow up here at least.

Onions and garlic are holding up.  Some of the mesclun is hurting.  Beets are wasted but were barely an inch high.  Peas are turning yeller.

I think they might appreciate it after how cold it was for them last summer

However, It's been Darn cold here.  Ok, I'm not a Southern baby, grew up in Michigan so I know cold is relative, BUT
IT SNOWED HERE THIS MORNING!
It was kinda like sleet, frozen little ice crystals bouncing off everything!

I've heard of it snowing up around Gainsville but I don't think I've heard many stories of it happening in Orange County Florida.

Tonight is supposed to be a really bad freeze and again tomorrow night!!!

First frost was last week, been as low as 20 every morning since.  Garden is mostly holding up but the peas are taking a pounding.  I've never lost peas to a hard freeze but its not often we get this cold for so long, and its not expected to warm up until maybe Wednesday.

Well we have had light frosts, but in Michigan we got our first really hard freeze of the year here anyway. It was 24 degrees when I woke up this morning and there was a heavy white frost on everything, and the leaves are hanging limp outside. I went out and got my squash and melons all picked last night and closed up the greenhouse against the cold. Ron worked all night and yes I mean all night outside piling the last of the firewood in the wood boiler shed and he is still outside. Brrr. But the shed is ready for starting up the boiler (we do have propane also). The forcast for here for the next week is for another cold wet week of below normal temperatures as well, guess Fall has come full strength into Michigan.
