I love this kind of people on the street video , so easy to do :
Stupid Americans ! Hey wait . Some of these people are immigrants are'nt they ? This is what happens when you cross over the border . I guess they're in a delirium from all the stuff we can buy .

Dale, those once-in-a-while tee-shirt days in winter are fun, too bad they end at 5-6pm!
Burra, we should definitely have an Iberian forum. A lot of English speakers from Northern Europe are coming down here for projects. Plus, I always recommend this forum to anyone I meet whose English is pretty good, English being the lingua franca and all, so much information gets transferred in English that may take longer to spread in to other languages. There is so much info that for me feels like common knowledge thanks to these forums but even when I talk to people here who have heard of permaculture, they might say things like "hugul-que?" Not even my PDC in Spain brought up hugulkulture, luckily I was there to proselytize.
In short, yeah we need one, it'll definitely grow.

It's the meaningless drivel section. Off topic is as good as any here.
Anyway, I think it might be time we had an 'Iberian Peninsular' sub-section on the Europe forum.. What do you think Jose?

We have a moderating effect that makes summer cooler and winter warmer. It's from the central pacific and not a south to north flow like the Gulf Stream. It's not as pronounced as that of the Gulf Stream which even keeps Iceland relatively warm when compared to other places of that latitude. Being on an island here, we are somewhat moderated no mater which way the wind is coming from. Coastal towns in BC and Washington enjoy the moderating effects of the Pacific when the wind blows from the west, but there are times when a wind from the east brings colder inland air from the mountains. Those same winds reach us after Vancouver has given up it's heat and then there's a 30 mile stretch of water to further moderate the temperature. Very occasionally, I find myself working with no shirt in January just so that I can call home to Ontario and rub their noses in it. When I do this, it's quite possible that I'm the only guy in the country engaging in this stunt.
All of this is off topic. Burra the Omniscient doesn't like hijackers.

We call it hockey. The only time you'll hear a Canadian refer to "ice hockey" is if they are playing floor or street hockey at the time. A professional hockey player started our most successful doughnut chain. It's called Tim Horton's and has contributed hugely to the advancement of obesity. If you want to meet a chain smoker, step outside and there they are.
We have a huge array of environments from polar to quite mild. Here in Victoria, people grow figs, palms, lemons, persimmons, pomegranate, and puny little olives, just because they can. It's shirt sleeve weather today and I will harvest from the garden later. Other parts of the country are frozen solid right now.

There's donuts in the Great White North too. Or perhaps they're "doughnuts".....

I thought we had Canada down as 'Great White North', just so I could get my head around it? Mooses (meese?) and ice-hockey would just confuse things...

That's actually better than most of our high school grads.
But let's face it... That whole UK thing... that's confusing too.
