Nice! I wouldn't mind a ruggedized battery radio -- just about everything they sell these days is disposable trash that breaks if you look at it funny.

This Makita radio works better than any I have had in a vehicle.

 The sound is clear and there is no buzzing or distortion on channels that come in clearly.

I play it at a reasonable volume.  Batteries last three days on average. I already have five Makita batteries and two chargers,  so it was the perfect addition to my kit.

 I listen to more rain now, than I ever have in my life.

I paid $50 or about $38 American for it on used Victoria.  It belonged to someone who used it for one week before he died.
