If humans were to vanish from the planet life would easily regain its composure and carry on . If insects were to vanish , even just bees , life would have to come up with a new gameplan .

Every day I see the spark of Excellence shining like a beacon in the darkness.
There is more going on in these forums than talk about plants, and chickens and winter heating. There are Dreams being cast, wishes being made, and people striving to become better than they are.

More than anything else, this site is about Hope.

" Husbandry is the name of all practices that sustain life by connecting us conservingly to our places and our world ; it is the art of keeping tied all the strands in the living network that sustains us . And so it appears that most and perhaps all of industrial agricultures manifest failures are an attempt to make the land produce without husbandry . " - Wendell Berry

"Today we are faced with a challenge that calls for a shift in our thinking, so that humanity stops threatening its life-support system. We are called to assist the Earth to heal her wounds and in the process heal our own – indeed, to embrace the whole creation in all its diversity, beauty and wonder. This will happen if we see the need to revive our sense of belonging to a larger family of life, with which we have shared our evolutionary process."
