I've been wanting to try one of these sharpening contraptions and they had this one on sale. And it's actually the accusharp brand! Anyways this was my test scissors before I tried any good ones. I didn't oil them because the screw in is plastic and didn't want anything funky happening in there. The spots on the blade are whatever they coated the metal in doing something. See why they where the test pair.

I tried for some of those artsy pictures the quilt blogs do but these are my best pictures. One baby quilt complete 3x2. This one might be for my Mama's new cat though.

The biggest quilt currently in planning is a oversized twin. I've got 4? Twin-ish sizes, a jacket and 3 trow/baby in progress. They vary from just needs binding to one block. The plan is going to be either a baby size or finish a in progress.  My biggest issue is going to be batting. I don't have much of that.
As for what I'm doing with them, I like to keep a couple premade baby size for church/new cousins/family friends. I'm out of those. One in progress and to planings are for Christmas for kids. All of my friends are also either getting married or having a baby.
It was supposed to be a test quilt for a 9 patch and I'm not sure how much I like it. I like the colors aesthetically but not sure how light colors will work for a baby. The yellow batting also changes the blue from sky to sea foam which I like. Most of the blocks lined up good enough. I squared them up before sewing them together that only helped so much. Now I just need to bind it.

I have way to much fabric. Multiple storage tubs full. I put a rule in place that I can only buy new fabric if it's a dollar or less a yard. Yesterday I bought two 8 yard bolts for 4 bucks a piece. In useful colors. In my defense they wouldn't cut off the bolts.
So the new plan is a quilt a week or at least two yards used. I'm hoping that by posting it'll like hold me accountable or something. Maybe. I'll try and post progress as it happens.

I started winter maintenance on my ball gloves. I chose a left and a right to be pictured. I do saddle soap in the winter and mink oil in the spring depending on use. The brown one was actually my great uncles and I didn't realize how poor of condition it had got. The laces on it are looking worn, but I'll replace those the next season it gets used ( I don't want the fresh tough laces pulling it out of shape in the box.) The black one was pretty much fine, it just needed a wipe down before being put up.

I kinda let these cubbies over flow with junk. I had several piles of stuff that needed to go on them but couldn't because of haphazard placement.

I washed 4 shirts, 1 pair of shorts, 14 underroos and 2 pair of pants. I washed in two separate loads. The mop bucket was great for wringing underwear and thin shirts, didn't work for the shorts though. The other pants I washed in the shower with me.

This was may test for shrinking a pattern down, I was planning half size, but made quarter. When I make a bigger one I'll post it.
It did seam a little flimsy with just machine stiches so I went back over all the seams with a blanket stitch. You can't see them as well in the original pic I guess.  And the non-natral mesh material in the stuffing pic is the bag I keep quilt scraps in. I didn't even think about how it looked in picture.
