I decided that I needed a lucet for cord making. I carved and sanded the tool from basswood my uncle gave me. I spent about 4 hours on it but I was just enjoying the process while bunny sitting and later around the campfire.

I'm documenting these 6 foods:

Carrots - 20.34 lbs
Cabbage - 20.66 lbs
Apples - 20.45 lbs
Onions - 23.37 lbs
Squash - 29.29 lbs
Potatoes - 20.64 lbs

I stopped weighing once i hit the 20 lb requirement.

Garden shears (secateurs) were invented in 1813.

4 foods:
Potatoes:  put in coals for 50 min
Onions: put in coals for 50 min
Sausage: put on skewer over fire until cooked thru
Bell peppers: and a lump of lard and cook until lightly charred

I have noticed a decrease in the amount of air pillows and bubble used to ship items and an increase in brown packaging paper. I tear the paper into 2-3' sections and twist tightly.

I made black tea ink. It was a quick and easy project. I did add more water than the recipe called for (because my leaves were ground up?)
and used a handkerchief in my potato ricer to press the liquid. I also added extra gum Arabic...

I was impressed with the beautiful color but was hoping for something closer to a black.

We almost broke our record high yesterday so I took advantage of the weather and washed the house.

My mattress will be used in 1700s reenacting events.

I used a printed 100% cotton ticking and 100% cotton thread. I hand sewed a backstitch and finished all seam allowances.

My mattress is stuffed with organic alfalfa and clover hay (I love the smell) it was challenging to locate organic... I bought it from the Amish whenwe traveled thru that part of our state.

Hand dipping candles was quite fun.
