Our pot clanking did the trick!  The experts are digging into the issue as we type.

It's looking like for some reason only moderators can post...which is why we didn't notice anything was wrong until now! Can any pollinators post?

I noticed I wasn't able to post. I tried several times....
Now I understand it wasn't the fault of my post.

[edit, added] I was smart enough to copy the post to Word. So I can try it again!

Not sure if its related, but recently when I go to a forum (solar, plumbing etc) it says there has been a new posting (lets say 5 minutes ago). When I click on it and go to the last posting, it says (lets say 8 hours ago). Even if I refresh the page it still doesn't show this newest posting. Whenever I come back (say hours later) and do the same thing, the posting is now there. Another glitch?

This will happen if a post is flagged for editing, or deleted, for not adequately adhering to the publication standards.

It can also happen if it's spam and the post has been removed.

We're trying to make spam removal more invisible, but it still shows up like that sometimes.

Hi Chris,   So when you say "flagged", do you mean a staff member has put a temporary hold onto the post until it is changed by the author but still show up as a ghost post in the counter?

As far as I know. This is observation, not some special kenning of the system. I have had my posts placed on probation, and the count doesn't change in that instance.

Something entirely different that produces a similar result could be happening. From this end, it's hard to tell.
