Hey y'all! I just signed up this morning because I was looking for breeding information for red wigglers and found this site. Y'all seemed real helpful and I know you promised to be nice so here I am.
The 30K foot view...I retired from the US Navy, bought 6 acres and got most of it cleared. I built a shop, fenced off a garden where a bunch of cedars once stood and drilled a very deep well. The wife and I are having a home built this year after which I'll use the front yard as an orchard and the back yard as our private retreat. The nice thing about all this is that's paid for; I go into retirement owing nothing except taxes.
My first duty station was La Maddelena, Sardinia, Italy. From there I was sent to Holy Loch, Scotland for a few years. I've been to all but 3 states and almost every little bloody island in the Caribbean. I got my running around run out of me. Once I move into my new home on the mountain, anyone will be hard pressed to get me to come down🙂

Michael, welcome to Permies! Sounds like you've done a lot of hard work on your place and have great plans. Permies is an excellent place to get ideas, share projects, ask questions, and brainstorm. Glad you're here!

Congrats, Chief!

If you haven't already, don't forget about signing up for the Farmer Veteran's Coalition.  Enjoy your retirement!
