It's that time of year again that I can start digging and sending comfrey
roots. If anyone would like some, I have lots of it available. I'm up for trades of pretty much anything that will grow in my climate. If you would prefer to purchase them, I
sell the roots for $1 each plus priority shipping. A small priority box was $9.45 or something like that last time I sent one. I can fit quite a few roots in one of those, and I can use bigger boxes if someone needs a lot. I always add extra roots to all orders free, and large orders get more free roots.
I really like real currency, so if you have real silver dimes, quarters, halves, dollars, I'm happy to send twice as many roots as I normally do for the same price. Dimes are worth about $1.65 right now, and I round up in your favor, so that would be 4
root pieces for one silver dime.
If someone needs a few roots and money is tight, I've been known to send them for the price of shipping alone :) and will continue to do that as long as people don't abuse the privilege. So far as I know, no one has, and I appreciate that very much about this community.
One other thing to keep in mind. If you buy comfrey once and get it established, you will have all you need for yourself, and all your friends, for a lifetime. If you have a friend that has a plant, no need to order any from me, or anyone else. Just take a small root cutting from the existing plant, and bury it somewhere. Comfrey is super easy to establish in nearly all areas, and once it's going, propagating it couldn't be easier. Dig a plant, chop it's roots into pieces an inch or so long, plant each root piece where you need a new comfrey plant and wait. I have literally hundreds of plants that I started from a small order from Coe's Comfrey years ago. Comfrey is a wonderful plant and I use it everywhere. If anyone has any questions about growing it, using it, whatever, I'll try to help.
