Good morning all!
Earlier this year the hubby and I purchased a Harvest Right. Most recipes involving tomato products want you to make said tomato product first and then freeze dry. I am curious if anyone has simply sliced and freeze dried their tomatoes, powdered them, and combined with other flavor powders to make spaghetti sauce or salsa? It seems like a whole lot less work. Thanks for any feedback!!!
Laura, that certainly sounds like something that would work.
Have you tried doing this?

Not yet. It's hot and humid here and we aren't running the freeze dryer. I was hoping someone else had already experimented and could post their experience.
I am setting aside about half of my harvest to at least slice and prefreeze so that we can experiment when it's cooler. The other half will get canned. Diversity!
