Greetings fellow Permies - been reading for years, but now I actually have some raised beds with great medium in them ready to go, but of course, have questions on square foot placement for some of them.  We are high altitude, and very dry, but we'll have a drip system in place for the new beds.  I'll leave this as my first post with a "nice to be with you guys" introduction, and post the questions elsewhere so it will get seen.  Thanks for including me in the garden!

Welcome to Permies, Sharon. Now I know you put back breaking work into your raised beds, but I recommend you try a sunken bed - at least a small one for your future garden plot. This better benefits fit a dry high altitude climate better. Those benefits are collect more water, shelter from wind and excessive sun, and the wind can't easily blow away the mulch.
