So I tried making fire cider for the first time and I followed a simple recipe, but all I got when it was done was a non spicy, bad tasting orange flavored fermented thing. My ingredients were horse radish
root, onions, garlic, orange , jalapeños, ginger, turmeric powder, black peppercorns and AVC. It seems that the orange fermented but nothing else did and none of the other flavors came through, even the ACV tasted less ‘vinegary’. It fermented for three weeks in room temp. Thoughts?
