what's the word for it?

Humanists act for the benefit of the human race and for the well being of other humans. Right? I mean, I'm simplifying it but basically that's the idea.

I'm trying to think of what to call a philosophy which acts for the benefit of the macro ecosystem and individual ecosystems. Compostist? Second Church of Dirt?

Permaculturist.

Of course! But there is so much conflict about that word. So much division and contention, like anything out there. I'm looking for a new word.

The closest I can come up with is ecologist.

Even if you come up with a new word, it will get controversial and corrupted . Some will corrupt it for their own greed, some will because of jealousy and hate. That is how evil works.

I say embrace and engage the conflict head on. The fact is that most people still don't know what the word is, so go out in the world and be the first example of what people see as a permaculturist. Then later on, when they see some conflict around some permaculture issue, they will remember you, and what you stood for, and wonder why someone would have a problem with it.

Keepers of the Sacred Web . Ecocentrists { ecocentric } . Human Geo-gnomes . To help clarify the ecocentric worldview I think we should reclaim the use of all "shit" words . Bullshit . Horseshit . Chickenshit. No more should they be used to slur or diminish a person or their worldview . Shit is such great stuff . So , if someone utters a great truth we can yell "Bullshit !" in praise . Someone who goes above and beyond and takes a few punches for Mother Earth can rightfully be dubbed "Chickenshit" and wear that label in pride. When we critique a great book "What a pile of steaming Horseshit " to warrant a five star review. Maybe in this forum - until everyone is co-opted and the linguistic transition has taken place - an emoticon of the earth next to the shit word would wink at you . Lets you know it's the ecocentric definition of Bullshit.
