I just replied to a post you made Paul, on another forum.  It wasn't until after I posted that I realized it wasn't Permies.com.  lol

All part of trying to be a good site steward.

I kinda feel like the mission is to convey permaculture ideas to the bigger audience.  And the best way to do that is one interesting tidbit at a time.    If they find that tidbit interesting and it has the label of "permaculture" on it, they might consider other permaculture bits.

I kinda think of it as the organic alternative to protesting.  Rather than the poison of protesting, I prefer the nutrition of sharing nuggets of interesting information.

So, about once a week I try to think about what is a good message to pass on complete with the word "permaculture" and a link to permies.

Are you trying to say that you're a free range giant?

Actually that is how I found my way here to Permies.Com.  I started my quest a few years ago to learn all I could about homesteading and self sufficiency.  At some point one of your videos lead me here and answered the biggest question I never knew I had.  The more I read and discovered about permaculture, the more I realized that this was the missing piece to my plan.  I felt like an ancient man using a square wheel and being passed by someone using a round wheel.  It wasn't something that was forced upon me, it was just painfully obvious that the round wheel was far superior.

Thanks Paul!  If it wasn't for your crappy video being better than no video I'd probably still be a square wheeler.

Cool!  My evil plot works!

Well, don't forget to pay it forward.  Help others learn about the round wheels.  One interesting tidbit at a time.

I kinda kicked the hornet's nest over there on countryplans.com lol.  I dunno what got into me, maybe it was the twins getting into the tube of Desitin before I had my coffee.  I normally don't voice criticism on the webs, but I had my daddy voice on this morning.

Isn't protesting time what you do if you have a bad government and tidbits time when you spread information?
Could the Iranies spread tidbits, yes, I suppose so though the net of the Ayatollah might close on them making the spreading of tidbits harder as time went on untill it got impossible and if they took to protesting too late their time would have passed.. Is there a moment when they have to protest?
Maybe you protest when people confuse you. I used to think even contradicting people was pretty cruel.  If to contradict someone is something you consider very tough, it easy to get shut up and end up feeling confused as people play psychological blind mans bluff with you..

I have been in the situation when i could not ever say anything because of the evasive techniques of those i talked to. This was street verbal  fighting and i believe from the direction the verbal fighting took, catholic fighting too and they have been refining methods for centuries.
These went from yawning to insults, insults distract you from your theme,  to shouting, to threats, mostly those of being blackened. I had to learn to shout in public or forever hold my peace. Lies are hard, you know they are lies but are reluctant to call others liers till you learn not to be so useless.
I had to learn to deal with all these fighting techniques before i could talk, or set out any tit bits.  When you deal with it badly, it is not so easy to deal with it genly so as not to be shut up, you dont control the different verbal agression methods well enough for subtllties, you are trying to grapple with them using any method you can find, doing the hysterical beserka instead of the martial arts getting the other to stop messing you around quietly.
I think women are dominated because they are not taught as often as young men are to hold their own, to make a fuss and to make sure they get into positions of strength in the family.
In marriage, with the dice so weighted in mens favour, it is not that cohabitation is difficult, it is that there is a system embedded in the deal  that makes the smooth working of marriage harder .
If women were told that many men think they will not have to try to have a parliment, discuss any common decision, it wil be up to the man, women would not try what they were unlikely to get or their efforts to  have a equal say would be more effectual and they would not shout uselessly at their husbands something that makes it look as if they are the ones who are being difficult. Men often get the cake and eat it too.  They would know they had to have a strong position socially and monetarily before trying to have a share in decision making.
They would not help men to get on with their own careers first in consideration for the fact hat men will suffer socially more than women if they don't do better than women  because society expects them to be more able. Nor would they help them to the detriment of their own careers, say, nor go to live were the man was in a socially advantageouse position compared to them once they understood that men are not going to be generouse back if they are given  a head start but would tread firmly on their wives.

It is not knowing how verbal fighting techniques will work that makes you nervous, and bad at fighting gently. Also you are likely to take some knocks and have to get used to the idea that you can't win everything. It is easier to handle the fear of what you will lose when you are resigned to losing things, losing being people you love as well as material things.
Another impediment i had to deal with was my fathers machistic idea that a woman who mantained a subject more than two minutes and more especially so if others looked minnimaly bored was schoolmarmy, something he made sound terrible, most unattractive .
Tyrany is using many ploys to stop people talking. rose macaskie.
