Hot dogs and mac
can be real food - but probably are not if you bought them at a supermarket.
Just like 'bologna'. Outside the U.S. it is usually called
mortadella. (Called bologna here, after its origins in Bologna, Italy.) A well crafted mortadella can be delicious, and nutritional. What is sold here in those familiar yellow and red packages is
not mortadella, and even calling it 'food' might be a stretch of the imagination.
That Cheerio casserole made me think of many bachelor cooks I have known. I asked one why he bought ketchup by the case. His response was "I like spaghetti."
