for anyone who loves the music of Lou Reed, there was a tribute day yesterday (Monday 28th) on my favourite radio station - livestream - KEXP.org, out of Seattle, Washington state.

starting at 6AM, with DJ John Richards, then all day as the DJs changed every four hours - just some really brilliant music programming that you don't find anywhere else (yes, I'm a fan, I listen whenever I'm online, all day *nods*)

here's a link to the streaming archive for Monday - http://www.kexp.org/player/Default.aspx?bitrate=128&startTime=2013-10-28T13:00:00Z
sorry for the clunky, I'm not so savvy with the posting, but I do know my music stations, heh.

just listened to "Here She Comes Now" by the Velvets, then covered by Galaxie 500, and Cabaret Voltaire. . .

so damn! how did I miss this forum before?

cheers folks!

I've been listening to these young Cajuns called Lost Bayou Ramblers . They play old school cajun like old cajuns or they can rock it with the best of them .
Heres an old school one :

it is great to see all of the Lou Reed posts...we are working our way through our nine albums this week... Velvet Underground and Nico...White Light/White Heat/ Transformer/ Live/ Rock and Roll Heart/The Bells/Classic Performances/the Blue Mask/ and my favorite "New York" where he says on the cover "This album was recorded and mxed at media sound, studio B NYC in essentially the order you have here. It's meant to be listened to in one 58 minute (14 songs) sitting, as though it were a book or a movie".
I cant find "Magic and Loss" ...it is one I found too painful to listen too...

...anyone listen to Laurie Anderson?

I've got the tape of New York, just the tape not the sleeve, and it's amazing. I must have listened to it 100 times a few years ago this time of year (whilst living in a bus)

I'm glad everyone involved thinks a 5 minute rendition of blister in the sun is kinda humorous. Those guys look like they put on a lively show the Who cover was amazing. Not enough dancing.

Iggy and the Stooges have released an epic album this year "Ready to Die".

Best Album of the Year

and no Judith I have not, but as I am constantly an honestly shocked at the good taste displaced on this thread I surely shall.
