The 40 acres next to us has no house, just barn and a few outbuildings, a well and electric. The neighbor told us he was going to
sell in a few years and move to another state. That few years has turned into, I'm selling right now. So we are scrambling to buy this property and then we will double our holdings. Pretty extreme. It means halting all tree and seed purchases and pretty much behaving as if we are dirt poor.
Anyway, we are super excited. This property gets major flood waters and we are hoping to really harvest some (with the benefit of keeping the road from getting washed out anymore.)
So I've gone from major purchases of
trees, plants and seeds and major earth works and am now going to be growing exclusively from seed, reusing, doing the free thing.
Once this thing is paid off we plan to make it the livestock side of the property. It does have that lovely big barn and suck.
Fence needs work but otherwise. WOOT!
Oh but the ground is totally decimated. Even more than our property as ours has been resting for 6 years and his has been grazed 24/7 by 3 horses until just last year. I'm going to see if I can't harvest some of our incredible sweet clover and spread some of it over there. Hope to rejuvenate it a bit.
