Residual income questions

So I read the thread and listened to Paul's podcast on the subject and have some questions.

I write a little bit, it's a bad habit I picked up in college, and usually it's to keep myself sane and organize thoughts. I don't have a website, I boycott Facebook...

1. Where (is the best place, and other good places) to put these articles/ commentaries I write so that they can potentially generate a few pennies for me?

2. How, other than linking to it here in my signature, can I bring traffic to my articles?

3. I imagine traffic alone doesn't generate income. How do I make the traffic generate pennies.

I understand there's probably websites that address these issues so I wouldn't mind links as answers but I'd like some summaries as well if anyone's experienced in this.

As to #3, to generate pennies from traffic you need to use either ads (Google AdSense being very popular, but there are plenty of others) or affiliate links (like the scubbly links on the dailyish email). If your writing is in high demand, you could try putting some of the articles behind a paywall (paid subscriptions) or offer premium content via Patreon (recurring small donations).
