I have a friend that started a nut milk business. She makes almond, cashew, and coconut milk. She currently tosses the solids, I would like to collect it, and feed it to the pigs. To me, seems like a good source of protein and fiber. The current plan is to have her store it in lidded 5 gal buckets.

Some issues I have:
1) I'm only going to be able to collect the pulp 1x /week, so it might get a bit funky, is this a problem?
2) how much is too much for the pigs

Neil; I do not have any experience with nut solids . But my time with piggys tells me that as long as they have a variety of feeds ... nothing is to much . If they like it, they will eat it first... if they don't care for it they will eat it last. As far as spoilage from sitting all week, have your freind keep it out of the direct sun. If its bad (really bad) the pigs won't eat it, as long as they have other choices. I feed spoiled raw milk to mine ... smells horrible to me... the piggys think it's ambrosia ! Won't touch grain ,grass or slops until the spoiled milk is all gone. Try some out, start small .. see if the pigs like it. It sounds like it should be a good food source.
