Ok I'm all for no (cides) and other things, but could someone explain the difference between a organic seed and nonorganic. I just can't see how a tiny seed can contain anything revelent to being yucky and pulluted when eating it's bounty. I've seen all kinds of accounts on GMO and (regular farming method) ((cides)) what they can do to your body and health. Just need a little in sight on this. We are starting up a roadside stand for next summer and although I won't get a organic stamp I will say that I grow everything free of cides and naturallly. I just don't know what to say when they ask about the seeds.

I have not heard or seen any problem with deer eating conifers, if they are Arbor day size trees they might step on them but wouldn't eat them. Now my concern would be if they have a lot of trunk showing and are taller than 3', then in the fall the bucks may rub their antlers and scar it up pretty bad. They tend to go after the Charlie Brown trees than a full one, they don't like all the needles in their eyes.

Thanks for the heads up, some pretty big names on the list. Now I have to wait in anticipation for a month.

Going forward with either a new or retrofit-ed system I would send your grey water from the bathroom/kitchen sink + the shower/bath + laundry area to a infiltration basic and only send the toilet water to the septic tank.

If you could do what Bengi said and then maybe follow your pipe and find the end, if it is sespool, then cut your pipe five feet or so from the end. I did that and the spring rains and snowmelt don't affect the flow anymore. The soil gets stacked and then won't drain, then with added moisture you get a double whammy.

For that you can use whatever you want, now if it for drinking water you better use something other than a garden hose. Then you have to think about is it going to stay out there all winter, will you bury it , is it going to sit in the sun. There is a pipe for all occasions.

Try one plant and see what happens, that's what I do. I have never tried coffee but I have done tea and noticed a stronger plant, sun tea, the coreopsis turned into a bush. I need to start doing experiments like that again, since we've had kids it's harder to do stuff like that and remember what your doing.

Knotweed is the meanest nastiest weed there is, it drinks Roundup and 2,4-d for a snack and then loves to be burned, chopped and mowed over. This year I decided I'm going to eat it.

Kelly we are in the same boat as you. I put these trees on a three year megaprune, so to speak. We are in our second year of pruning and currently topping a third of the tree if needed (if one out of three leaders are longer than the apple picker, they get hacked) then the next leaders will get cut in years to come. Last winter I just cut the dead and some of the big canopy branches that covered up the lower branches I could pick and also got some crossing and or touching branches out of there. Next winter will be more of the same as this winter. If you just top a tree your will get to many watersprouts (suckers) and have more pruning to do. By the way last summer we had a megacrop of apples, some of the really overgrown trees were kinda like eating a mashed potato, still tasted good.
