Hi Guys:  the top burners on my "hand me down" Danby gas stove, model number DGR468W, work perfectly after I cleaned the manufacturer's protective coating, (yes, it was still there after all these years), from the pilot jets.
I also cleaned the oven pilot jet assembly, covered with the same stuff, but nothing happened when I tried to light the constant on pilot, not even the hissing sound of propane coming through the system. I would like to get some technical advice before I start tearing stuff apart.  Can someone help?

Hi, guys: A ray of hope for me? I am the new owner, (read hand me down), of a Danby stove, model number; DGR468W, exactly like the one Julia mentioned. The range pilot light jets were blocked by some greenish, hard, shiny substance which I removed, and now work perfectly fine after cleaning the holes with a fine needle.
The oven is the problem. The pilot jet assembly was coated with that greenish stuff.  I cleaned the hole for the constant on pilot, could not find the hole for the heater pilot, set the thermocouple according to picture, followed instructions on how to light the oven, and nothing!
Also, when I turn the oven on, I don't hear that hissing sound.  I don't want to just start pulling stuff apart before I get some technical advice. Can you please help.
