This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Plumbing.

In this Badge Bit, you will extend a plumbing drain and vent to a new location.  Adding a sink in the garage?  Let's put a drain on that puppy!

It might be a little trickier than it seems at first.  Here's a video to get you started:

Points vary on this from 4-8 based on complexity of the job.  The average job will garner 5 points.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
  - extend plumbing DWV (drain, waste, vent) to a new location
  - meeting code for your area and/or appearing to satisfy some sort of code or best practices

To show you've completed this Badge Bit, provide proof of the following as pics or video (less than two minutes):
  - the existing piping before you start
  - the project halfway through
  - the finished project

I did several drain installations in one major remodeling job.  Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the shower or toilet  But I do for the sink...

I converted a bedroom into a bathroom.  The sink, of course, needed a drain.  Since it was in a whole new part of the house, I had to extend the drain lines a fair distance and put a new vent through the roof.  So on the point range I'm hoping this will be a bit higher than the average job

I took lots of pictures at the time but didn't know the requirements or I'd've taken even better ones.

Pictures:
1.  Bathroom just getting laid out.  Sink will be where the oval is on the floor.
2.  View from the other side of the wall, showing the new drain pipe coming up through the floor and continuing up to be the vent
3.  Showing the vent going up to (and through) the ceiling
4.  Pic in basement of the old drain that didn't go past the doorway
5.  Finished sink
6.  New basement piping, clearly going past the doorway (bathroom is to the left and upstairs in this picture)
7.  Pic in attic of the new vent going up through the roof (shower vent is on the right joining into it)

Staff note (Nicole Alderman) :

I hereby certify that this badge bit is complete!

Staff note (Mike Barkley) :

Nice job. It's well worth the full 8 points.

Mo-om! You're embarassing me! Can you just read a tiny ad like a normal person?
