Felling a live tree with a chainsaw - PEP BB woodland.sand.livechain

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
- drop 6” to 8” live tree with a chainsaw

To document your completion of the BB, provide the following as pics or video (<2 min):
- your chosen tree
- tree with the wedge/notch cut
- tree on the ground
- measure across the stump showing diameter

So I tried cutting a dead tree with a chainsaw and accidentally cut a living larch, I feel really bad about it because it was a beautiful tree, had plenty of space around it, not snagle toped, and the wood has a gorgeous color! So it's waiting at the Labs for someone to peal and stack it for future projects. Video will be added when I get home.
Side note would cutting the 2 lower branches of this Russian olive count as cutting live tree. I'm asking for my sister because this is a valuable shade and windbreak tree for her house but those branches are trying to topple it down the hill into the road so if because they are each 6-8 ish she could get this BB, save the tree to keep doing it's good work, and have some material for the split rail fence she wants to slow her toddler from running off the cliff.

I cut down a tree that had the misfortune of growing where my hugelkultur wants to be.  The one I chose to do first had no lean and a clear spot to fall.

Took this crooked and double topped pine tree down to allow room for more valuable trees to grow in its place.  It will be used for firewood because it isn’t good for much else.
