I was going through some old farm pictures and found this one. It is hard to judge the size, but the caption says 1909; 30 potatoes weighing 60 pounds, Field 1. That means each potato averaged 2 pounds. That is pretty impressive. They did not just take photos of potatoes in 1919 for no reason. This was my Great, Great Step-Grandfather, and potatoes were his life.

Half a pound of butter and a healthy handful of grated cheese and .........my mouth is watering already!
